DECC Confirm New Renewable Heat Incentive Figures

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has today released more details of the domestic Renewable Heat Incentives (RHI) including tariff levels for other eligible technologies.

Concluding the final consultation tariff levels have been confirmed by the DECC.

• Tariff levels are set at 7.3p/kWh for air source heat pumps;
• 12.2p/kWh for biomass boilers
• 18.8p/kWh for ground source heat pumps
• at least 19.2 p/kWh for Solar thermal.
• Payments will be made on a quarterly basis for seven years.
• Anyone who has installed an eligible technology after 15 July 2009 will be able to qualify.
• Householders who have received RHPP vouchers will have the amount deducted from RHI payments.
• It is aimed by the DECC to introduce the scheme in Spring of 2014.
• Applicants will need to complete a Green Deal assessment and meet minimum energy efficiency requirements to qualify for RHI payments

“Householders can now invest in a range of exciting heating technologies knowing how much the tariff will be for different renewable heat technologies and benefit from the clean green heat produced. We are also sending a clear signal to industry that the Coalition is 110% committed to boosting and sustaining growth in this sector.”
